Welcome to the all-new Gorper Nation Times (GNT)! We have reinvented our venerable publication in a blog format after at least 2 dozen days of initial offerings as an email publication. Our readership clamored [there were a couple of requests from the same reader] for this change and we are pleased here at GNT to make this change. Let it not be said that the GNT is a timid organization. We remain at the forefront of the publishing industry in adopting this new [10+ years-old ] format, blazing new trails of journalistic integrity [and bombast!] in pursuit of an informed gorper public. Please ignore the parenthetical remarks as we have a new [and vigilant!] editor for our blog edition.
Oh, what is this? You do not know what a gorper is? Hmmm...dare I suggest that troglodytes still exist [careful now!]? Why, a gorper is anyone who eats gorp, or has ever considered eating gorp! Well, perhaps that is too exclusionary? Let us just say a gorper is a Remarkably Enlightened Individual [REI? you must be kidding!] with an obsession with mucking about in nature and doing things that are healthy [alleged to be healthy!] when they can get time off from their busy work schedules. For a more inclusive definition, please ask for more information from your fellow travelers the next time your are staying at a hostel or strolling your local pathway system. Let us hope this clears things up and that this annoying [read "enlightening"] editor will not prove so intrusive in future installments!
